And Grandpa’s. C1 and I were able to take a trip to see Hubby’s parents for two weeks. It worked out great because my Dad needed some help sorting through my Grandmother’s things and some old photos before we celebrated her 90th birthday. I took a few days on the weekend to go about an hour north and help my Dad. Sadly I got sick and had to return back to the in-laws house a day early. That was actually the first time I’ve spend a night away from C1, and by morning, it was rough, I missed him terribly. I don’t know if I can do that again.
We had fun with Grandma and Pa. We went to the park, we played with Hubby’s old toys, played in a nice big back yard and clean sandbox. I got to go out to the movies with MIL and then again with some new friends I had made; without kiddo in tow. C1 just loves his grandpa and playing with him. We had so much fun we forgot to take pictures of us playing.
Grandma kept saying that having C1 around felt just like having Hubby back as a child. So, now I know what my Hubby was like as a toddler.
Grandpa on my side also enjoyed playing with C1. Sadly we didn’t have a lot of time with him to play, but C1 warmed up to him quickly and showed lots of love. We also got to see two of Hubby’s cousins, who just happen to be in town as well. It was fun to get to know his side of the family a little more. Living so far apart it’s hard to make the relationships.
C1 took quite a liking to Hubby’s old Little People toys. Also, one day Grandma showed C1 how to stack some blocks. Two days later, I find C1 sorting through the large legos, finding the single ones and stacking them together. A new skill for him, I was so proud.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for letting us come visit and for taking such good care of us. We hope to play with you again soon.
