3 Generation Quilt

Standard

This quilt is fun because it was my Grandmother who started it by painting the doves onto the denim fabric.  It was then given to my Mother, who pieced the top together with denim and cottons.  She had it in her to-do pile for 20 years, so I said I would take it and finish it.  I decided to tie the quilt instead of machine quilting it.  I bought and put the back on, tied it on my floor (I don’t have a quilting frame).  I also now have bruised fingers from tie-ing this in a matter of days.  Bound up the edges with fabric I had on hand, and washed it.

I thought about giving it to someone else in the family because I wasn’t sure if I liked it very much.  Now that it’s done, I like it and want to keep it.  It’s also not as heavy as I thought it would be will all the denim that was used.
