Scallop Tote

Standard

See Kate Sew is having a sew-a-long with this cute scallop tote.  Of course I had to make one; I love FREE patterns and tutorials!  I also love that I have a fabric stash I can sort through and make something like this and already have everything I need.  This was great practice for me with circles and rounded edges.  I thought about adding things like pockets and frills, but I kept this simple and let the design show itself off.  My only complaint, even finished you can lift up a layer and see the raw edges underneath.  I wonder if there is a way to hide them completely.

Make one for yourself, they don’t take a lot of time or fabric.  I used fat quarters and it was perfect.

  1. cute! i love it! thanks for sewing along!

You can definitely get around the raw edge thing by finishing all the scallops like you finish the top scallop.

    🙂
