A friend of mine recently called me an “over planner”. I wasn’t sure if I should be offended, and I guess I am a hint offended, but really to me, over planning (or planning in advance) means less stress for later.
I’ve been thinking a lot and planning and starting projects for C1’s first birthday (in January). I’ve been thinking about the decor, what foods we want to serve and things like that. Collecting ideas and have started the party favors. I told Hubby that I wanted to make bright color pom poms out of tissue paper for his party, and he said “no way. We have a boy.” I guess pom poms are more girly, but bright colors? That’s more boyish. I’m okay with not doing pom poms this time, because I’ve already got a lot of other things I’d like to make. However, someday, I will make pom poms for my future little girls party.
I saw this idea on See Kate Sew. I liked the idea but did my 1 shape a little different and did my wrapping a little neater; which also took up more yarn (almost a full skein). By choosing the green color, I hope to not only match C1’s party, but future parties as well. The curve on the number was a little difficult to wrap, but I made it work; just don’t look at the back side.
Not really sure how it was going to turn out, I’m quite pleased with myself. I think it turned out pretty well. It’s not to be played with or it might come apart some, but it looks good and I can do more numbers and then hang them on the wall later for number decorations.
