Got my hair did

I find a few things funny about this situation. First is, the only person I have been to more than once to do my hair is in Payson, UT (Jessica). I don’t get my hair done very often, but it seems every time I’m in Payson, I go get my hair done. Anywhere else I go I don’t go to the same person. Secondly, I find the name of the salon pretty funny; Curl Up N’ Dye. This name was also in the movie “Run Away Bride”, but to see it as an actual place is funny to me.

Jessica, thank you for doing such a good job on my hair every time I’m in town. I always like it when you do it.

Donnie Mac’s Trailer Park Cuisine

A friend of mine from High School and I went out to lunch to do a little catching up. We decided to go to Donnie Mac’s Trailer Park Cuisine as featured on Diner’s, Drive-In’s and Dives on the Food Network channel. This is a fun place to go in Downtown Boise. The food wasnt’t bad, comfort food really, but for me the more exciting part is the atmosphere.

We had to bring our Mom’s to help care for the kids so we could actually get some chatting in. Thank you K. and Mom’s for coming out to lunch, I had a great time.

This car that we sat in is an actual table to eat at. Although with our kids and a car seat, we didn’t actually eat in it, we just sat there with someone else’s mess to get a picture.

We sat at a table, where all the bench seats are seats from a van, but on wheels so every time you moved the whole seat would move too.

Five Months

While we were in Boise C1. turned 5 months old. My how time is flying!

At 5 Months C1:
Weighs: 16 lb. 2 oz.
Length: 27 inches

Since we weren’t near our own Dr. I called a local Pediatrician to see if I could come into their office to weigh C1 for my own records. They told me no, because I might find them liable if he was underweight! How stupid is that; they are not liable for the way I feed him; and I need to weigh him to make sure I’m feeding him enough! So instead we went to another office nice and early, before it got busy, and walked right in, weighed him and was out in 20 minutes.

At 5 months C1 is:
*suck his left thumb
*suck his right big toe
*sit up by himself
*size 2 diaper still
*size 3-6 month clothes still
*loves to swing (with Grandma A.)
*doesn’t like having clothes pulled over his head very much

Down on the Farm

This summer (my month in Boise) I got to go to my brothers house; which I will call a farm. He’s got goats (lots of baby ones too) and chickens and a horse and a dog and all sorts of fun animals. Well, for the first time in my life I got to milk something. I guess you could say it’s on my bucket list to milk a cow or goat. I got to milk one of his goats and it’s not as easy as it looks, it takes some skill and practice. It was also difficult to have C1 attached to me and doing it only one handed.

The goats tried to nibble on C1 and our ties. It would kind of startle me to have a goat try to nibble on my fingers as I was just standing there.

Thank you to my brother and his wife for the yummy lunch and for letting us see your place. You’re a good teacher on milking too!

Oh, and I have to tell you the matching hats that C1 and I are wearing, I made them. The pattern I think is here on the blog, in one of the tabs. It’s made from a t-shirt (9 year old size). I was able to make the two hats out of the one shirt, and not throw out much.

Great Grandparents

C1 is lucky enough to have 5 great grandparents alive and well. Only one of which is a grandpa; the other four are grandmas. We have been lucky enough to go and let C. meet all of his great grandparents this summer. It’s a great opportunity to get a 4-generation picture with each of his great grandparents and grandparents.

Here we are with my Step-Dad and his Mom:

My Family all in one place

It’s been years since my side of the family has gotten a family photo. Well, I thought it about time, and sadly, it almost didn’t even happen, but we finally got everyone together and snapped a few shots. One slight problem; my hubby is missing. Maybe in another 5 years when we do our next family photo, he’ll be there for that one.

I love you Daddy and miss you lots. Our boy sure is growing up; we’re excited to see you again soon.
