We finally have internet again. So here’s an update…
We’re moved in. Hurray. I still have to hang pictures and do paint touch ups and have a few nick-nack things I don’t really know where to put. I would take pictures and show you our new place, but Husband has the camera with him on his business trip (I’m not sure why, his office isn’t picture worthy).
This summer has been rough, and to top it all off (hopefully there isn’t more bad to come) my car died the day before I plan to drive to DC to be with Husband. I tried to start it and it sounded like a gun went off, then the hood seeps smoke. That’s not good. It’s at the repair shop, so we’ll have to wait to see what it was.
Also, some of you asked for the Nauvoo Bread recipe, so here it is:
5 cups hot water
1/2 cup potato flakes
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup powdered milk
1 1/2 T. salt
1/2 cup oil or shortening
2 T. yeast
10-14 cups flour
Combine hot water, shortening, potato flakes, powdered milk, and sugar. Stir to dissolve shortening. when temperature is tepid, add yeast. Mix in 5 cups of whole wheat flour and the salt. Stir to a smooth sponge. Add white flour to make smooth and elastic dough while kneading for 15 minutes. Let rise until double, about 1 hour, punch down and let rise again. Shape into loaves, let rise. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 35 minutes.
Some have also asked, now that we’re moved and Husband is settling into school, what am I (Wife) going to be doing. Well, we don’t know yet. I can do what ever I want, which is nice. I’m looking at a schools to go to, will apply for a job every now and again (with no luck), but really would like to become pregnant and start the family. If you have any ideas for me, let me know. But for now, come visit, I can be your tour guide.
